Abstract

Variance of time in airport security check will lead to the unnecessarily early or potentially missing scheduled flight. In order to study the problem of increasing the airport throughput and to low the waiting time, this paper regards passengers' average arrival rate, departure rate and the number of security gates as key factors, establishing security check model based on the queuing theory; then building the throughput model according to security gate and departure rate using collected data, and validating models. Furthermore, this paper demonstrates the process of impacting index of throughput and waiting time when measures make sense, ensuring that opening proper check lane can reduce the variance of wait time. And the results show that the model can clearly describe and predict the waiting time and throughput in the airport.
