Abstract

Based on the theory of continuum damage mechanics, the concept of plastic damage Evolution and permeability coupled is introduced to Mohr-Coulomb damage criterion, and an effective approach for fluid- solid coupling full analyses is provided. The developed model was applied to excavation-disturbed zone simulation of the mudstone shield tunnel. Considering the actual case of the construction in the deep Boom clay formation, a three-dimensional nonlinear finite element model for simulating shield tunneling is proposed. The distributions of stress and displacement around the tunnel associated with the shield tunneling operation are analyzed in detail. The results in this paper are useful for the shield tunnel construction and the field measurement.
