Abstract

The rapid development of urbanization has made the urban environment more dense and artificial. However, due to technical limitations, lack of theory, and other reasons, the initial development of urbanization caused certain damage to the city’s ecological environment. The current high-density urban environment has also put greater pressure on the ecological environment. The stability of the urban ecological environment is the basic guarantee for the sustainable development of mankind. As the trend of high-density development is inevitable, architects should choose a design strategy with ecological restoration capabilities in the design process based on the local climate. Taking Shanghai as an example, this paper introduces design strategies for climate response and ecological restoration in a high-density urban environment.
