Abstract
A series of solid solution blue-emitting tellurate Sr2MgTeO6:Tm3+ phosphors were prepared at 1100 °C by the high-temperature solid-phase method. The single phase of Sr2MgTeO6:xTm3+ (x = 0.0025-0.10 mol) were checked by powder X-ray powder diffraction. Under 359 nm excitation, the Sr2MgTeO6:Tm3+ phosphors emit blue emission at 456 nm. The optimum doping concentration was 0.05 mol. The fluorescent decay lifetime of Sr2MgTeO6:0.05Tm3+phosphor is 0.318 ms. These results validated the Sr2MgTeO6:Tm3+ tellurate phosphor showed the great potential in the field of solid lighting as blue-emitting substitutes.
