Abstract

With the increase of load, the risk of voltage stability problem in power grid will increase, especially in the power grid with high proportion of power receiving in central and eastern China. Low voltage load shedding is an effective control measure to solve the problem of power system voltage stability, and how to take a more reasonable and effective load shedding strategy to reduce the adverse impact of load shedding always is the key focus of the power industry. The reactive power operation characteristics of each link of Source-Grid-Load will have a significant impact on the effectiveness of low-voltage load shedding measures. The reactive power regulation capacity of renewable energy source is also a resource worthy of utilization. The precise load shedding scheme can quickly and accurately control the interruptible load as planned, with fast response speed and less impact on the scope of power failure, which can meet the dual requirements of power grid security and high-quality service. Therefore, taking full account of the reactive power operation characteristics of each link of the source network load and taking the low-voltage accurate load shedding measures coordinated by the Source-Grid-Load is an important direction to improve the voltage stability level and reduce the loss of power failure. Combined with the voltage stability problem of Jiangsu power grid, specific solutions are proposed, and the accuracy and effectiveness of the measures was verified by the calculation example.
