Abstract

In recent years, China is making rapid progress, developing and prospering, along with the common progress of high-voltage related industries, because our development also has increasing requirements for electricity, and more and more power demand requires the progress of power system. High voltage vacuum circuit breaker can open and close line load current, overload current and short-circuit current, which plays a very important role. At present, 10kV high-voltage vacuum circuit breaker is generally installed indoors. The research on the performance of 10kV vacuum circuit breaker is mainly focused on the condition of normal temperature, but in the cold area of North China, sometimes the indoor temperature can reach about - 20 °C. The research on the mechanical and electrical characteristics of vacuum circuit breaker under low temperature has important theoretical significance and practical value. In this paper, the low temperature performance of 10kV vacuum circuit breaker is studied by comparing the mechanical characteristics, circuit resistance and AC withstand voltage test data of 10kV vacuum circuit breaker at different temperatures.
