Abstract

As the tea plant originated in China, China is considered the cradle of the tea civilization. "Tea", one of the three major drinks in the world alongside cocoa and coffee, is important for people around the world. In 2022, China's application for "traditional tea processing techniques and their associated social practices" was deliberated and approved by the 17th UNESCO Intergovernmental Working Conference and they were added to UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
