Abstract

In order to clarify the cause of the failure of the 4/10μs high current impulse withstand of the 10kV distribution arrester, and verify the equivalence of different types of high- current impulse withstand test samples, and improve the quality of the arrester connected to the grid. This paper takes the porcelain-housed and polymer-housed arrester for 10kV power distribution system as the research object, and uses the test method to study the high-current impulse withstand capability of the whole arrester with different structures, its core element resistor piece, and the dielectrically prorated section. Comparing the difference in high current impulse withstand capability between distribution arresters of different structures and different samples of the same arrester. The factors affecting the high current impulse withstand capability of 10kV distribution arresters are analyzed, so as to provide technical support for optimizing the selection of arrester high current impulse test samples and for grid users to choose arresters with excellent performance.
