Abstract

Under Keel Clearance (UKC) is a key factor that affects loading rate and draft of Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC). In order to prevent groundings caused by loading rate and draft increasing, it is necessary to study on UKC calculation model for VLCC. Based on analysis of UKC impact factors, this paper uses multiple linear regression to build UKC calculation model of the vessel in Bohai Sea by numerical simulation and ship model. Simultaneously, calculating UKC of “Yuan Fuhu” VLCC in different natural conditions, compare with usual requirements and regulations at home and abroad to verify the model.
