Abstract

In this paper, the authors examine the use of impact acoustics in the quantitative assessment of the structural integrity of concrete structures. As part of the proposed impact acoustic method (IAM), an algorithm of quantitative evaluation based on wavelet analysis is used for fast computation in field inspections. The paper describes how the evaluation is focused on concrete strength, internal defects and the boundary condition of structures.
