Abstract

In this paper, a fast and accurate design method, combining the mode coupling technique and the full-wave simulation, has been introduced to design the smooth-walled horn antenna with a high Gaussian coupling efficiency. As a demonstration, a smooth-walled horn antenna working at terahertz band has been simulated, confirming that the method we proposed can help design horn with high symmetric, low sidelobe patterns in E-plane, H-plane and 45 degree plane.
