Abstract

The clutch engagement control of Automated Mechanical Transmission (AMT) system is the core and difficult issue in the development of AMT. This paper analyzes the clutch engagement process during starting in a bid to realize a stable starting with minor jerk and friction work. On the basis of the driver’s intention, the vehicle work states and the road information, fuzzy controller was used to control the clutch engagement degree and engagement speed to realized stable starting. The simulation results show that the system performances are satisfied. This method is useful to improve vehicle performances.
