Study on Four Rivers Restoration Project and the Development of Busan as an Ocean City

Abstract

The development of Busan as an ocean city has been connected with many factors such as North Harbour redevelopment project. But it is explained here with Nakdong River hydrophilic zone project(“Ecodelta city” project) and Nakdong River restoration project, one of Four rivers restoration project of the Lee Myung-bak administration. In order to develop Busan as an ocean city, it must be an international business city of manufacturing & logistics industries. This had been held back and was recently recommenced with Nakdong River hydrophilic zone project(“Ecodelta city” project). For the development of Busan as an ocean city, it is very important to have Nakdong River hydrophilic zone project(“Ecodelta city” project). It is argued that Four rivers restoration project & Nakdong River hydrophilic zone project(“Ecodelta city” project) should be explained by ‘cooperative governance’ rather than ‘market’ of liberalism or ‘state’ of progressivism. We are not full grown to complete such a large state project as Nakdong River restoration project by ‘cooperative governance’.
