Abstract
A series of experiments were carried out to evaluate and analyze the damage mechanism of carbonate reservoir in Shunbei No.2 Area, Xinjiang, China. According to the analysis of reservoir lithology and physical properties, combined with reservoir fluid characteristics and environmental characteristics, the potential factors of formation core damage were analyzed. The potential damage of reservoir is as follows: solid phase particle intrusion blockage, stress sensitivity and strong water lock damage. The effect of pressure time on permeability was eliminated by fracture stability correction. Fracture stability correction was used to evaluate core sensitivity. There is no velocity sensitive damage in the reservoir core, but weak water sensitive and salt sensitive damage, moderate and weak alkali sensitive damage and strong stress sensitive damage.
