Abstract

For axle sized non-contact hybrid brakes used in medium sized aircraft, braking torque versus current characteristic experiments were conducted using multiple fluids and a multi-disc magnetorheological fluid brake experimentation machine. An increase in current, reduction in rotation speed, increase in concentration, and decrease in particle size all increased braking torque.
