Abstract

In this paper, we conducted a study on flight crew's team situation awareness(TSA) during the approaching landing phase, the purpose of this study is to improve the TSA of the flight crew and to ensure the flight safety. A method of measuring flight crew's team situation awareness based on situation awareness and team shared model was proposed and the visual landing experiment was designed based on simulated flight experiment platform. The individual situation awareness (ISA), mutual awareness (MA) and shared mind (SM) which includes team dimension and task dimension of flight crew were measured during the experiments, and their safety performance was obtained by expert scoring method. The results showed that there was no significant difference in ISA between high and low performance groups, there was a low positive correlation between safety performance and ISA, and the correlation coefficient was 0.423; However there were significant differences in MA, team process and task process between high and low performance groups, there were a moderate positive correlation between safety performance and these 3 indicators, and the correlation coefficient were 0.695, 0.753 and 0.739 respectively. Taking communication and information integrity as independent variables, and those 4 indicators as dependent variables, two-factor analysis of variance was conducted. The results showed that the main effects of communication and information integrity were significant, the interaction between them was not significant. To sum up, in addition to improving the individual SA of pilots, it is more important to ensure the integrity of flight data and increase the level of crew's mutual awareness and team shared mind through the effective communication of the crew, it is significant to improve team situation awareness and ensure flight safety.
