Abstract

In recent years, fast timing detectors have attracted more and more attention in the fields of high-energy physics and nuclear medicine due to their advantages in magnetic immunity and time resolution. Through simulation analysis, we discussed in detail the reason why the gain of sensor changes with the magnetic field strength. To improve the test efficiency, we proposed a test scheme to evaluate the magnetic immunity through the shift of the signal pulse height with the magnetic field. The results show that when the sensor axis is parallel and perpendicular to the magnetic field direction, the magnetic field tolerance of the sensor is up to 5 T and 1.85 T, respectively. Besides, the time resolution of the sensor is not affected by the magnetic field strength under fixed conditions.
