Abstract

The Saemaul movement was launched in 1970 for the development of rural areas, which are relatively inferior to the development of urban areas. As agricultural and fishing village maintenance projects have been promoted, the form of the project has evolved into a bottom-up business method. Therefore, in this study, we evaluated the residents’ satisfaction level of the town development project recently implemented from B-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. There was a difference in the perspective of the rural village development project between the general residents and the village leader group. This was analyzed as a problem of implementation of procedures for project promotion, establishment of plans for selection of projects, absence of income business, and execution of funds. In addition, the results of the analysis of residents’ awareness of community development projects showed that the opinions of village leaders and the general residents. Therefore, in order to maintain and succeed the rural village development project as a successful and sustainable project, it is necessary to improve the institutional aspects of applying by strengthening the capabilities of residents during the project selection process.
