Abstract

Wind power is experiencing rapid development and the share of wind power is increasing fast. The effect on power system small signal stability caused by high share wind power has got more and more concern. At first, the model of mechanical systems and electrical control system of DFIG is established in the simulation software DIgSILENT/PowerFactory. After building IEEE 3-machines 9-buses system, the effect of DFIG on power system small signal stability is simulated. Then, based on the simulation results, the cause that DFIG affect the small signal stability of power system is analyzed. At the last, an improved pitch angle control strategy is put forward. By adding an additional controller, this strategy can indirectly increase the damping of the power system and improve the dynamic stability of power system with high share wind power.
