Abstract
A novel double-cladding erbium-ytterbium co-doped fiber amplifier (EYCDFA) based phosphate glass (LGS-L) fabricated by ourselves is theoretically designed. Numerical calculation demonstrates its gain per unit is higher than EYCDFA based on silica glass, and it is promising for the next generation of WDM network with high channel counts.
