Abstract

Nano-diamond (ND) has been widely used in many fields as a nanometer material with excellent properties of diamond. However, its application is limited by the fact that ND is prone to agglomeration. Heat treatment, as a method without introducing other impurities, is a pathway to improve ND dispersion. In order to improve the dispersion and stability of ND, we adopt the method of air heat treatment to modify the surface of Detonation ND and High-Temperature and High-Pressure ND. Via experimental characterization and analysis of the surface chemistry of ND, the variations on the surface of ND during heat treatment were explained.
