Abstract

In the basic performance of SF6 high voltage circuit breaker, the breaking performance is the most important technical index to measure the performance of the product, and the breaking performance is mainly depended on the recovery characteristic of the dielectric strength for the arc extinguishing chamber during the opening and breaking process of the circuit breaker. In this paper, based on the theory of gas dynamics and electromagnetic field, the flow characteristics of the air flow and electric field intensity in the arc extinguishing chamber are simulated by the computer simulation software. And a numerical calculation method for the dielectric strength recovery characteristic of the circuit breaker is proposed. The method presented in this paper will provide necessary theoretical basis and technical support for the future application of the SF6 high voltage circuit breaker in high voltage system.
