Abstract

Object: Through dose Gegen Qinlian Decoction (GQD) to alloxan induced diabetic model mice to study the hypoglycemic effect of GQD, then investigating the effects of hypolipidemic and antioxidant activity of GQD, explore the mechanism of GQD. Methods: inject the alloxan (ALX) to mice to make the diabetic mice model. For 15d dose GQD, then using the a carbose as positive control, the blood glucose, serum triglyceride (TG) and high density lipoprotein (HDL-C) was determined since 1h after the last dose respectively. Then using FRAP (Ferric reducing antioxidant power) method and DPPH· (1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazine) method to determine the effect of antioxidation of GQD and each prescription herb respectively. Results: GQD has significantly effect to reduce the blood glucose levels of alloxan-induced diabetic mice, and decreases levels of serum TG and increases HDL-C levels. GQD also has good antioxidant activity. Conclusion: GQD could significantly has significantly hypoglycemic effect on diabetic mice, it also has good hypolipidemic and antioxident activity, there into the Scutellaria plays a leading role in in the effect of antioxidation, GQD has more comprehensive protection to the diabetic animals.
