Abstract

In our country, smoke detection equipment and heat detectors are generally employed for detecting fires. However, if certain criteria are satisfied, such detectors perform their functions even if a fire does not exist. Consequently, people are often not convinced by fire alarms and do not retreat to safety during an actual fire, which in turn worsens personal injuries and property damage. Although several fire detection algorithms exist, these algorithms have various drawbacks, such as inadequate accuracy, and firefighters face difficulty while locating rescuers. In this study, the AWS Rekognition API software tool is employed for detecting fires. In case of an actual fire, people can press an activated button in their houses. The source of a fire is determined by incorporating advanced AWS Rekognition features. Furthermore, the “Save Touch” feature can aid firefighters in easily finding rescuers.
