Abstract
The main purpose was to investigate the process of crystal to amorphous transition in nickel-based alloy subjected to ultra-short pulsed laser shock peening. A molecular dynamics model of laser shock peened nanopolycrystalline nickel-based alloy was established using LAMMPS. The influence of shock velocity on the amorphous transformation in nickel-based alloy was analyzed. The results indicated that ultra-short pulsed laser shock peening with ultra-high strain rate plastic deformation promoted the increase and accumulation of defect for nickel-based alloy, contributing to the formation of amorphous structures.
