Abstract

The corrosion resistance of high frequency pulse electroforming Ni-Co-SiC coating in 3.5 wt% NaCI solution and 15 wt.% H2SO4 solution was studied. The results indicated that, as the frequency increased, the depositing rate got improved, the Ni-Co-SiC coating tended to be more compact and the weight loss rate of the film immersed in 3.5 wt% NaCI solution and 15 wt.% H2SO4 solution decreased and have higher micro-hardness than Ni-Co coating. As the frequency increased, Ecorr shifted in positive direction. Thus high frequency was of great impact on the deposited layers and improved the corrosion resistance of the plating.
