Abstract

The end-to-end congestion control in intelligent optical networks(IONs) based on IP layer is studied. The queue scheduling algorithms are used to intelligent optical networks and two queue scheduling algorithms are analyzed and compared. The network's throughput are gotten for different queue scheduling algorithms by simulating different scenes. The scene is about a TCP flow and a no feedback UDP flow to compete a bottleneck link. By comparing the simulation results it is shown that the Weighted Round Robin(WRR) algorithm is the best and is selected to be used in intelligent optical networks. In Weighted Round Robin algorithm, according to the flow's priority different weight is distributed to each flow and make them get required bandwidth, and then the flow's QoS can be guaranteed.
