Abstract
The disinfection efficiency of Cl 2 and ClO 2 on water purification was compared. The result showed that with the same dosage, ClO 2 had better bactericidal efficiency than Cl 2 and produced less trihalomethane compounds than Cl 2 . ClO 2 disinfection has the advantages of high efficiency and safety in use. ClO 2 was suggested as a new disinfectant in supply water treatment.
