Abstract

The portable urine analyzers play more and more important role in communities and families, However, the ambient light intensity and environment temperature may produce a relatively big influence on their test results. In this study, a novel portable urine analyzer with a new optical structure is presented. The optical structure, composed of optical fiber bundles, is raised to effectively reduce the influence of ambient light on test results, and hopeful lower the cost of urine reagent strips. Meanwhile, a temperature sensor is taken to measure the environment temperature in order to calibrate the test results of the analyzer. Additionally, some its components, including a micro-thermal printer, a wireless fidelity module, a secure digital card, are designed to be optional for further enhancing its performance. Consequently, the analyzer, which can detect fourteen-item indexes of urine, has good repeatability and measurement accuracy of more than 97%, and broad prospects for application.
