Abstract

The angular distributions of the3He and α-particles emitted from a silicon target bombarded with a 14 MeV doubly charged3He beam have been measured at 20 angles between 10° and 110° with a surface barrier solid-state detector. The analysis of the elastic scattering28Si3He,3He)28Si with the optical model and the analysis of the28Si(3He, α)27Si angular distributions with the DWBA theory indicate that these reactions are mainly direct in nature. Within the limitations discussed in the text, spectroscopic factors of 2.92, 0.32, 0.39 and 0.61 were assigned to the ground state and the 0.78 MeV, 0.96 MeV and 2.65 MeV excited states, respectively.
