Abstract

This study analyzes the variations of the Municipal Human Development Index (IDHM) and the Social Vulnerability Index (IVS) in the Metropolitan Regions and Integrated Development Regions (RIDE's) of the Northeast in comparison with Brazil, during the Censuses of 2000 and 2010. The research highlights the importance of the dimensions that compose these indicators and provides relevant insights into social vulnerability in the region.
