Abstract

The use of wood from forest plantations as a building material proves to be a sustainable alternative in the field of civil construction, its use in prefabricated panels becomes interesting as a lightweight sealing solution for more economical and optimized buildings. However, the need for thermoacoustic insulation in these panels must be considered, and this is where the proposal of the article is inserted, which aims to fill the gap in research on ecological insulating materials. From research in the technical-scientific literature and in the national and international market, it was found that there are many natural or recycled materials with suitable properties for use as insulating materials in civil construction, and even some of these are already sold abroad with competitive prices. In Brazil, this market is still incipient, however the potential in the use of agricultural residues as insulators is perceived, in view of the high production in the country.
