Abstract

Compared with the conventional broadside frequency modulation continuous wave synthetic aperture radar (FMCW SAR), the squint FMCW SAR has the characteristics of the high range walk, small range curvature and spatial-variant property weakening due to the presence of squint angle. Based on the characteristics of squint mode, an improved frequency scaling algorithm (FSA) is presented in this paper. The range walk is firstly corrected in the time domain, then the data is equivalent to the broadside mode. After the correction, the conventional FSA is performed to realize the imaging of the scene. In the end of this paper, both the simulation results of point targets and the vehicle-based experiment results have validated the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed modified method.
