Abstract

The article presents some results of the scientific of the research diagnostic readiness of children for learning at school. The newest approaches to the diagnostic assessment of a child's readiness for school were characterized. There is shown the novelty of the research on this issue. In particular, it consists of the development, and substantiation of complex methodological tools for assessing the readiness of older preschool children to study in primary school in the period of the reformation of the school system, taking into account new educational trends of competence approach to assessing their personal development. The diagnostic tasks were created. The “Magic Transformations" is a set of diagnostic testing actions for studying the child's readiness for school. This method combines pedagogical and psychological methods of examination. It is based on the process of interaction between an adult and a child The authors note that the main criterion of the current state of readiness of the child to study in primary school is the established manifestation of indicators of intellectual, motivational, emotional, and volitional maturity of the child, which is reflected in the statistically generalized and average values. The obtained quantitative data will be considered as a reference point for the first approximation to predict the success of the child's future learning activities.
