Abstract

Biological tissue is a complex medium, only anisotropy factor g is not enough to describe its scattering properties. The scattering properties of biological tissue can be charectered with parameters g, and ¦A, where ? and ¦A are respective a quantity that relates to second-order moment g2 and moment of phase function, shows the relationship between g2, g3 and first-order moment g1. Some phase functions charactering human tissues and their second-order parameter ? , third-order parameter ¦A are discussed, and the properties of them are studied with the factor a. of phase function (¦E ) Tissue P. The results demonstrate that: ? and ¦A are parameters related to the micro-structures of biological tissue, ? and ¦A more dependent on phase function than g1; it is better for using g, and ¦A parameters than only using g to character the optical properties of tissues. it is necessary of selecting appropriate phase function for applied technology of medical diagnosis and measurement of optical parameters.
