Abstract

The adsorption and retention of the hydrocarbon chain oxine derivative 7-undecyl-8-hydroxyquinoline on a macroreticular resin, Amberlite XAD-7, was studied spectrometrically. The ability of the liquid ion exchange molecules to form chelates with metal cations was examined by ESR spectroscopy. The correlation of both allows a description of the observed adsorption mechanism.
