Abstract

A recently developed multi-histogram method was used to study the order of the Higgs phase transition line in the SU(2) Higgs model at λ = 0.5 close to its endpoint at low β. The critical exponents α and ν could be estimated from the finite size scaling laws for the maximum of the specific heat and of the first zero of the complex partition function. The results indicate that the exponent ν might be smaller than the Gaussian value ν = 0.5.
