Abstract

Cross sections for the $^{4}\mathrm{He}$(p,${\mathit{p}}^{\ensuremath{'}}$t) and (p,${\mathit{p}}^{\ensuremath{'}}$h) reactions have been measured at a bombarding energy of 101.2 MeV. Interpreted within a resonance excitation and decay model, the measurements permit a study of charge-symmetric single-nucleon decays of $^{4}\mathrm{He}$ resonances. Measured angular correlations indicate that most of the yield arises from the excitation of the generalized dipole response. The results are consistent with minimal isospin mixing in the region of the dipole resonance.
