Abstract

Abstract The analysis of the vibration spectrum of parabanic acid goes back to 1964 1 mentionning data of Raman spectroscopy made during 1941 2. The diffusion spectrum of N-deuterated parabanic acid has never been published and nowhere mention is made regarding the depolarisation factor which is so useful when examining vibration spectra. Therefore it seemed wise trying to elucidate the spectrum of parabanic acid on basis of more complete and recent data at least in what concerns stretching and in-plane deformation vibrations.
