Study of the Hot Deformation Behaviour of Metal-based Alloys with Reference to Processing Maps

Abstract

Processing maps make it possible to predict the formability of alloys in a simple way. These processing maps are widely used by scientists and engineers as seen in the large amount of publications in the last decades. Yet, in the last years, some publications called into question the principles of the model used for calculating processing maps. Therefore, the goal of this study is to analyse the applicability and the meaning of the processing maps.
