Abstract

The velocity dependence of the total collision cross section for the systems Li–Hg, Na–Hg, K–Hg, Rb–Hg, Cs–Hg, and Na–Cs has been measured for energies between several electron volts and several hundred electron volts. Due to the high angular resolution of the apparatus it was possible to resolve in all cases the glory undulations, which are analyzed in order to determine potential parameters. The influence of the finite angular resolution of the apparatus on the observed glory structure is discussed.
