Abstract

The paper is concerned with the study of the effect of the gas-turbine unit (GTU) parameters on the performance indicators of a self-contained combined-cycle gas-turbine unit (CCGTU) with consideration of additional losses due to the gas turbine cooling. The GTU and CCGTU cycle diagrams were analyzed using the developed computational software at various initial temperatures of the gas turbine and various ratios of pressure in the compressor. It was shown that the GTU efficiency is maximized at a certain initial temperature of the gas turbine for any given ratio of pressures in the compressor. However, the electrical efficiency of a recovery combined-cycle gas-turbine unit is increased with increasing temperature in front of the gas turbine in the entire studied range extending up to 1800°C.
