Abstract

The current study documented the effect of Nickel (Ni) element in the growth of Mirabilis jalaba plant at different concentrations. In the phenotypic level; it recorded the highest elongation of the main stem at (10ppm) with (+3.27%), while was (+0.74%, +2.4%) at (0, 50ppm) respectively. In the physiological level; the samples with (10ppm) isolated from others, by chlorosis their leaves where increased the values of chlorophyll to (+12.55%) While a decrease recorded and yellowing noted, then followed by a welting at (0,50ppm) where recorded (-41.33%, -6.41%) respectively. Therefore, we can stable on the information; that the concentration (10ppm) is the optimal concentration to stimulate some growth parameters for Mirabilis jalaba, among of the treatments understudy, Where the concentrations (0,50ppm) were harmful to the plant at the physiological level and this may be due to the toxicity of nickel in excess of the plant's need or the effect of winter weather on plants.
