Abstract

Distribution of tumor affinity metal ( 67Ga, 111In, 169Yb and 201Tl) compounds and alkaline metal 22Na, 86Rb and 134Cs) compounds in tumor tissues were determined by macroautoradiography. In Ehrlich tumor and Yoshida sarcoma, which had been administered with [ 169Ga]citrate, [ 111In]citrate and [ 169Yb]citrate, respectively, the concentrations of these nuclides were predominant in connective tissue (especially inflammatory tissues) rather than in viable tumor tissue, regardless of the time after administration, and were not seen in necrotic tumor tissue. In the case of Ehrlich tumor and Yoshida sarcoma administered with [ 201Tl]chloride, [ 86Rb]chloride and [ 134Cs]chloride, respectively, a large amount of these nuclides was accumulated in viable tumor tissue, and only small amounts were accumulated in connective tissue, regardless of the time after administration, and were not seen in necrotic tumor tissue. In the case of tumors injected with [ 22Na]chloride, the concentration of 22Na was more dominant in necrotic tumor tissue than in viable tumor tissue and connective tissue, regardless of the time after injection.
