Abstract

The aim of the present paper is to investigate the behaviour of the kinematic viscosity,mean-square displacement and free volume of glycerol in order to theoretically andexperimentally evaluate the fragility degree. Starting from the dependence of viscosity ontemperature, the behaviour of the mean-square displacement and free volume ofglycerol is analysed in order to point out the linear relationships between thelogarithm of viscosity and the excess mean-square displacement and the excess freevolume. As a conclusion, two fragility definitions, based on the observed links, arediscussed.
