Abstract

In order to support multi-access in UWB-over-fiber system, a scheme that can be used to conduct BPSK-coding employing triplet optical ultra wide band (UWB) pulse based on Phase Modulation to Intensity Modulation (PM-IM) conversion and multi-channel frequency discriminator, then the theory is analyzed. Simulated through Optisystem13.0, different BPSK-coded sequences with a central frequency of 6.7GHz and a relative bandwidth of 104.5% are achieved. The impacts brought by Gaussian pulse width are analyzed, indicating that Gaussian pulse with a width of 0.5bit fits the scheme best. The impacts brought by light source power is analyzed as well, the power spectral density shows good compliance with Federal Communication Committees (FCC) definition when the light source power is below 26dBm. The scheme provides a possible code pattern for multi-access in UWB-over-fiber system.
