Abstract
Eu and Y co-doped ZrO2 is fabricated by solid state reaction method. ZrO2/Eu/Y products evolve from the monoclinic phase to the monoclinic/cubic phase in structure as the Eu ion content increases. Monoclinic/cubic heterophase junction is obtained during structural evolution, which develops a new route to fabricate ZrO2 heterophase junction. Photocatalytic property measurement is carried out for ZrO2/Eu/Y materials. The ZrO2/Eu0.1/Y monoclinic/cubic heterophase junction promotes photogenerated electron-hole separation effectively and hence exhibits better photocatalytic performance.
