Abstract

Poly(para-phenylene vinylene)(PPV) derivatives thin films, such as MEH-PPV and poly (2,5-dibutoxy-p-phenylene-vinylene), were prepared by spin-casting onto optically transparent [TO conducting glass substrates from precursor solutions with different solvents and concentrations, and their photoelectric properties were studied with surface photovoltage spectroscopy. With the help of the photovoltaic properties under the external electric field, a localized subgap electronic transition and desired interchain interactions for particular photovoltaic device applications are found.
