Abstract

In this paper we present an analysis of how the influence of the thickness of the material used on the efficiency of miniaturization of a branch-line coupler. The proposed method is based on replacing the traditional transmission line with an artificial transmission line. For the analysis was the application AWR Design Environment. Branch-line couplers with a substrate thickness of 1, 1.5 and 2 mm were designed and manufactured using standard methods for manufacturing printed circuit boards. According to the results obtained, it can be concluded that thickness affects the characteristics of the developed devices.
