Abstract

This paper presents the results of a study of the process of gas amplification in a wireless flat cell with a homogeneous electric field with a 1-mm gap between the cathode and anode. It is shown that the transition from proportional to streamer mode of operation of this design occurs when the Reter threshold is reached in a simple two-component gas mixture of the type Ar + 20% CO2 without freon or hydrocarbon additives. This fact is a decisive argument when choosing a working gas while planning long-term experiments in a closed environment from the ecological point of view.
